PL man arrested on suspicion of child abuse

A 50-year-old Plumas Lake man was arrested today on suspicion of sexual abuse of a child beginning in 1998, Marysville Police Chief Wallace Fullerton said.

Edward Landis was arrested at 9 a.m. at the Marysville Police Department and booked into Yuba County Jail.

"The arrest stemmed from an investigation into allegations from an adult woman who resided in Mr. Landis' residence as a child," the chief said.

The woman alleged the abuse lasted three years, he said.
