Physician's app a contest finalist
Local resident Dr. Christopher Genobaga is a finalist in the 2011 American Medical Association's App Challenge for his idea, a mobile surgery card.
The card would allow surgeons to create an electronic surgery card listing the materials and devices needed for each surgery.
He is an obstetrician/gynecologist in Yuba City.
Genobaga's idea is one of 10 selected from hundreds of ideas sent by physicians, residents and medical students to the AMA's first app challenge.
One winner will be selected from each of two categories: physician and resident/fellow/medical student.
AMA members voted to Sept. 30; winners will be announced in November.
The winners will receive cash and prizes plus a trip to AMA's semiannual policymaking meeting in November in New Orleans.
