Group's Web site promotes Yuba County

With the growth of Yuba County and the introduction of Plumas Lake in the past several years, a group has come together in an effort to promote and attract a variety of business and future developers to the area.

The Yuba County Alliance for Development (YuCAD) has been holding special focus group sessions for a variety of development, real estate and workforce professionals to receive feedback on a new Web site designed to attract businesses and development to the county.

The site, www.chooseyuba.com, was rolled out earlier this month and features information on the county and what it has to offer prospective businesses and residents.

“ChooseYuba.com is designed to provide one-stop research access for development activities from Wheatland to the foothills,” said YuCAD president Carla Wilcoxen. “It features the most robust online search engine for finding residential, commercial and industrial property within Yuba County and answers the questions of how to do business within the county and what one needs to know when moving or relocating their family to a community within the county.”

The site features several drop-down options that offer a variety of information, including a list of county businesses and up-to-date news information on potential business opportunities for prospective companies. In addition, the site is a great resource for individuals and families considering a move to the area. It has current listings of homes that are for sale in the region, as well as links to possible jobs opportunities nearby and recreational options.

YuCAD, through funding by Yuba County, is the area's first regional economic development Web site in which many communities and groups have come together to represent and further the interests of an entire region.

YuCAD officials said they hope the site and the outreach they are doing will help existing county agencies and resources to get the word out about what a wonderful area Yuba County is and the investment opportunities that are available.

“It will complement the existing local government, educational, utility district and chamber Web sites,” said Wilcoxen, “while providing a one-stop location for researching and identifying investment opportunities.”

The Web site is underwritten by banners from sponsors and investors, YuCAD member dues and grants.

In addition, Comcast will also be airing an interview with Wilcoxen regarding the goals and objectives of YuCAD and investment opportunities represented through www.chooseyuba.com. Check your local Comcast listings for dates and times.
