What brought you to the Yuba-Sutter area? We used to live in Antelope and were pretty much fed up with the crime.

What keeps you in the Yuba-Sutter area? The peace and quiet and the lack of police helicopters. Marysville is like Mayberry. Everyone knows each other and it's nice.

Most embarrassing moment: I was driving and thought I saw the passenger in the car in front of me waving a gun at the driver. CHP pulled them over but all they found was a black wallet. He had been waving a wallet.

What is the closest you've been to a famous person? Mike Tyson. I was at an airport after taking a class on dream interpretation in San Diego. He's very distinct, and really short. The airport employees ran up to him for autographs.

What don't your friends know about you? I used to sing in an original pop band in bars and clubs in Sacramento.

Who do you most admire? Tamera Sturgis — I love her joy and her energy, and you never hear her complain about anything. She's an awesome friend and inspiration.

Tell us about a life-changing experience: Marrying my husband, Matthew. I've been married twice previously. This guy is like a dream come true. He knows how to bring out the best in me and he has been healing my heart.

Pet peeves: People shoplifing my (jewelry) creations. I put a lot of time and effort into those.

Favorite places in Yuba-Sutter area: Chikara Japanese and Sushi Restaurant. That stuff's good.

What is one of your fondest memories? My first date with my husband. We had a picnic lunch near a pond. Two dragonflies were flying around and around. That became the theme of our wedding, and it became the name of our business: Two Dragonflies.

What would you change about the community? That people would shop local more.

How would you describe yourself? Ridiculous. I don't act my age.
