School district forms parent budget committee
The Plumas Lake Elementary School District has been working hard over the past year to increase its communication with parents and offer more volunteer opportunities.
The district recently put together a team of six parents to be part of a budget subcommittee to be educated on the district’s budget and some of the decisions that will need to be made in the upcoming year.
The committee of parents and community members will have an opportunity to develop some recommendations for the superintendent and the school board to consider when looking at the 2010-11 budget.
This committee will be another resource that will be able to communicate important information to other parents and to gather information from parents out in the community.
The district encourages any other parents who are interested to attend these committee meetings over the next four months; all meetings are open to the public. The meetings will be held at different school sites throughout the district . The first one this Thursday, Nov. 5 at Rio Del Oro Elementary at 4 p.m.
For more information on the budget meetings, visit the district’s Web site at www.plusd.org.
