Toy drive chugs along at Rio Del Oro

Students at Rio Del Oro Elementary School are participating in the CHP's Kids Toy Drive, with a goal of 200 donations by Dec. 16.

The school has set up a Polar Express train display, and the train moves closer to the North Pole with every toy donated. The toy drive started Nov. 30.

Every student who donates a toy prior to the school's winter music program Dec. 16 receives a "believe" train ticket good for a free hot chocolate and a cookie, according to school secretary Robin Harland.
