Law enforcement raids two homes in south Yuba County

Officers from the Gridley-Biggs Police Department and the Yuba County Sheriff's Department carried out search warrants at two homes on Erle Road in south Yuba County on Monday morning, but the focus of the warrants were unknown.

At about 9 a.m., a passer-by reported seeing law enforcement officers at homes on the 2600 and 3200 blocks of Erle, a rural area southeast of Linda.

At least one person was reported in custody.

An officer at the home on the 2600 block said the agencies were carrying out a search warrant that originated in Gridley, but could not provide further details. Officers from the NET-5 anti-narcotics task force were also present at at least one of the homes.

Several law enforcement officers were still at both homes about an hour after the first report. It was not clear whether anyone was at either home at the time the warrants were carried out.

Officials with the Gridley-Biggs Police Department did not return a call for comment Monday. A spokesman for the Yuba County Sheriff's Department said he had been told that all media inquiries were to be directed to Gridley-Biggs.
