YMCA Day Camp

Location: Rio Del Oro Elementary School

Day camp for kids entering 1st through 6th grade. Activities include arts and crafts, swimming, field trips, campfire songs and skits and much more. The cost is $125 per week. Operation Lightning Bolt Disaster Expo

Wednesday, May 14, 2008
9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Location: Sleeptrain Ampitheatre

Like a bolt of lightning, disaster can strike at any time.  This Expo is being held to promote disaster preparedness.  Agencies such as fire, EMS, Air Ambulance Services, law enforcement, Red Cross and Yuba Sutter Domestic Animal Disaster Assistance will have booths and displays.  Business that provide disaster and emergency products will also have booths.

Courses are also being offered and are free:
- Mass Casualty and Terrorism Preparedness in Israel-Lessons for California
- General Disaster Preparedness for EMS and Healthcare Providers
- Community Disaster Preparedness
- Disaster Preparedness for Pets and Livestock

Shooting Star Children's Art Studio Grand Opening

Location: 325 D Street  -Marysville, CA
The Shooting Star Children's Art Studio is a unique environment for children ages 7-18 to explore art and enhance their creative development. We will be having our grand opening on May 3rd, 2008 from 10am-5pm! The first 100 kids to visit the studio that day will receive a free art project to take home! Special class rates for those who register on May 3rd!

The studio will be offering classes in painting, drawing, sculpture, cartooning, art history and open studio nights for teens. Classes will be held year round and limited to no more than 13 students per class. Private lessons will also be offered. The studio is located at 325 D Street, Marysville.
