It's time for T-ball again
The Plumas Lake Youth Sports Association is once again taking registration for its spring T-ball teams. The group, which offers several sports opportunities throughout the year, is aiming to give the smallest tots a chance to learn the game.
PLYSA was established to help Plumas Lake and its surrounding communities promote area sports and recreation programs. The organization's goal is to bring the community a variety of opportunities for children and their families to expand their athletic horizons.
The "Tiny T-ballers" is an instructional T-ball league for children 5 and under who are not yet at the age in which they can join surrounding community Little Leagues but are ready to learn the fundamentals of the game.
Each year the association, along with the generous help of parent-coaches, helps to make this league one that is a safe zone for children to learn the game without the competitive nature present later in life with the bigger leagues.
The league is currently taking registration for this season's league with practices and games scheduled to begin the last week of March. Practices are usually held one day a week, with the selected day at the coach's discretion. All games are held on Saturday mornings at the Plumas Lake Charter School.
Additionally, the league is always looking for coaches and urges parents interested to contact the league. Complete knowledge of the game is not necessary to get involved.
For more information about the league or to register your child, visit the league's Web site at www.plysa.org or call (530) 797-4179.
