Tots tee up second year
Plumas Lake Life The Tiny T-Ballers were a huge success last season, with many families taking the opportunity to enroll their little ones. The second season of the teeball league, sponsored by the Plumas Lake Youth Sports Association (PLYSA), is beginning to take shape.
The league, which serves children under the age of 5, who are not old enough to participate in the South Sutter Baseball League, gives students an introduction to the game.
“Last year’s season of the Tiny T-Ballers was a lot of fun, and we are looking forward to a great 2008 season,” said Lennie Masse, PLYSA secretary and sports coordinator.
The season is slated to begin the last weekend of March; the league has opened up registration for new players. The players will have practice once a week with
the one-hour games each Saturday.
The cost for the season is $45 for PLYSA members and $55 for nonmembers.
For those interested in signing up their children, there are several opportunities. There is online registration at www.plysa.org or parents can
attend one of the two remaining in-person registrations: 2-6 p.m. March 1 or 5-8 p.m. March 6, both at Neighbors Pizza located at 1957 McGowan Parkway in Olivehurst.
